Vor zwei Tagen, am Sonntag, sind wir 5 Studentinnen aus Basel hier mit dem Zug nach 6-stündiger Zugfahrt angekommen. Wir wurden von zwei netten älteren Herren, am Bahnhof picked up and our property down:
was our first impression: "Wow"
3 bedrooms, 2 with Internet access, a huge living room with TV, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with shower and bathtub!
So we set ourselves it's something that a little after the area had shown us a little bit and then set off to our silent by then already immense hunger.
rode the light rail to downtown and we found after some searching a nice little brasserie where we are after a long wait Stomach could beat full: I ate an Asian dish with rice, chicken and much coconut milk! (Un d Kroepoek gabs still do!)
Then we headed back home, showered and fell even more tired in our beds.
On yesterday we were picked up at 8:00 clock already, which meant that we had to get up at 7:00. We had breakfast with makeshift Aufbackbrötchen, biscuits and tea which some of us had it and packed our bags. The weather was so cold and horrible, that we Sweater and rain jacket still frozen ...
We were driven to the castle and rafters were first told their story. Then us the excavation leader Maria H. has been presented, the einwies us a little. Working hours were from 8:00 - 15:30 clock, each with a breakfast and a lunch break of 30 minutes. On weekends we would not have to work, but next weekend is a celebration held at the castle and then look shall we dig. With us for 3 history students would dig in Bielefeld, a university student and two students. This also wobbled slowly, but as the weather worsened (at 11 ° C with wind and rain), We all trembled before us and were not 100% attentive.
We got the underground passages of the castle, the place on the dig and we would generally shown the castle.
As the weather now deteriorated even further (up to 7.5 ° C with heavy rain) and also because Maria did not know exactly what to do with our half-frozen mouse, she sent to us late lunch already the "closing time".
We descended from the castle, still got a light rail ticket for the entire week and drove off:
Our first thought was for the shopping, there we were again also become quite hungry.
After some asking around we found the location of a supermarket (plus) and went there - after a few detours - shopping.
Laden with five shopping bags we started for home. Once we cooked our pasta and prepared salads, they ate ravenously, and then rested from a long time.
ate the evening we once again warm - potato wedges, chicken salad and again - and then went right to bed early, because we pretty were tired.
This morning it was still early in the spring: The alarm clock for 6:30 and was joined to 6:40 I had finally made it out of bed. Piri and Sofia cooked porridge and made nice with me as one too. I first ate an apple while I greased bread for lunch and was preparing vegetables, we quickly ate our porridge (Miri ate corn flakes) and packed our things. At 7:15 we went go: We traveled by rail and then rose with great moans the stairs and d en mountain to the castle high * pant *
Above expected Maria ourselves, and we could start the same: More and two of us would be a "claim" share / edit it together. It's about a wall from the inside also reveal that had been exposed from the outside even from other archaeologists in the last three months. The claims are each about 4x2 meters in size and it always works a Swiss with a German - and since Miri is so German, they must work with me ^ ^
We then grabbed our tools: a bucket, a shovel , two scratches, a scraper, a hand brush and a trowel per person and to have a shovel and a wheelbarrow, and made get to work. First we had all the loose soil and sometimes even shovel up the lawn, which was very tedious, but then came including stone and brick shards embedded forth in a loamy soil. There was now no longer align with the blade as much. Why we are with a hoe, an ax (for tree roots), the scrapers, and scratches and buckets armed.
finally went it was time for the morning break, and we eat in the trailer. The weather was fortunately a lot warmer now and even looked out the sun behind the clouds, but always came back down and small showers.
worked after a little break, we further extended with new strength and uncovered some larger stones. This could include another wall, but on how carefully they had uncovered was clear to us that the it was not.
Already it was time for lunch and then just popped out the sun, we sat on a bench and some of us even on the grass in the courtyard.
We ate our sandwiches and enjoyed the sun, but finally it was time to continue working. Miri and I threw the rocks full of energy now in our wheelbarrow and had this afternoon dank unserer Aufgedrehtheit/Müdigkeit einiges zu lachen.
where I got myself also like a relaxing bath, because we knew that we could suffer from sore muscles and I hope this at least a little bath that has weakened ...
home, I then took a bathe just with the bath salts and finally we had little else for dinner.
But enough of today! More hard for me right now not one, but I will as soon as possible to write something ! Here are some pictures of the castle and our students, and our apartment, click on) (please to see them all!)
